Danville is known as one of the lesser affluent suburbs in the Tshwane Metropolitan area.

Only 98 sales transactions were recorded in the deeds office for Danville for 2010. This was the lowest number of sales in the last five years declining from 340 sales in 2005. However the median value for single residential dwellings have increased from R412,000 in 2009 to an all-time high of R470,000 in 2010.

Danville is a suburb of the Tshwane Metropolitan Council and is located approximately 7 km west of the CBD of Pretoria. It is accessible via the Daspoort Tunnel and is also connected to the R55 and R104 main roads.

Surrounding suburbs include Elandspoort, Kwaggasrand, Proclamation Hill, Daspoort and Wespark.

There are however other points of interest such as the “Wesfort” and the Tshwane University of Technology. The second Anglo Boer War was fought between 1899 and 1902 on which occasion the “Fort” was established just above one if Danville’s existing extensions today.

Danville also provides a scattering of small shopping centers that caters to all needs. Danville is popular in the housing market due to the fact that it falls into the affordable market bracket.
